In Virginia, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime — and the state still has the 9th highest breast cancer mortality rate in the nation. Together, we can ensure our neighbors don’t have to miss their chance at early detection – regardless of insurance status, income, or background. Join the Alexandria-based National Breast Center Foundation for the 10th Annual Walk to Bust Cancer on Sunday, October 19 at Fort Hunt Park.
This year’s Walk comes at a critical time. A growing number of women (& men) are hurting in our area from lost jobs, healthcare coverage and/or fear. Many are skipping health appointments even though missing even one annual mammogram can have significant impact on a woman’s future. Together, we can take one worry away.
When you register, please this link to sign up under the DRBA Wellness Group so we can walk and donate together as a community. Participants are welcome to design their own t-shirts to showcase their business or share a personal message; however, all registrations should be made under the Del Ray Wellness group.
We’d love for you to join us in supporting this important cause!
