Spring Into Fitness can mean more than going to the gym. It can also mean renewing your commitment to your whole wellbeing.
Getting outside, drinking plenty of water, working out with renewed intention and dedication… focusing on positivity, forgiving others, unplugging for even a half hour a day, or an hour or two each week and committing to health and creativity are the keys.
Here are five easy steps that will help you better align your health span with your expected life span and make you feel better, inside and out:
1. What’s your motivation? Are you trying to jump-start your fitness routine or wanting to shake things up in your already-strong efforts? Think about summer on the horizon and any trips and special events you have planned, or want to plan. Turn that excitement into energy for working out, getting healthier and getting outdoors more!
2. Embrace the season. Make springtime the prime time for your favorite outdoor activities. Start with getting outside every day for a walk. If you have a dog, give you and your furry friend the joy of spending more time outdoors in the warmer temperatures. Whatever the case, dive in and enjoy the outdoors in new ways. Train for a 5K? Join a kickball team? Plan your garden renovations? Get outdoors and have some fun!
3. Consider Alloy Personal Training. If you’re feeling stuck or craving guidance on your fitness journey, consider our personal training program. It’s a great way to bring fresh perspectives, enjoy full body workouts that are tailored to you, your abilities and your goals, and be more accountable to yourself and your loved ones for improving your long-term health. 4. Make a plan and track your progress. Go back to No. 1 on this list: What’s your main motivation for this season? Let that drive your plan – how intense will your workouts be? How frequent? How much variety will you need to meet your mark? Track your progress. But, be sure to rest and enjoy yourself, too, and pat yourself on the back when you hit a milestone or even a mini-goal!
5. Smile! Let the power of spring and the lengthening days put some extra pep in your step. Pause, look up at the sky, take a deep breath and smile. Even if it’s cloudy!
Springtime is a time of renewal and transition. Take some time to reflect on where you’ve been, tweak your goals, and head into sunnier days with some extra swagger in your step!
