Wilderness Kids Alexandria exists to provide life-enriching experiences in nature to teenagers from under-resourced families and under-served communities in Alexandria. We are the only organization in the City doing this work.

Alexandria Music Makers Scholarship Fund
The Alexandria Music Makers Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing non-primary school music education to deserving young musicians. Our goal is to provide scholarships to children in our area so they can study music at any of our partner schools. We need donations to provide music education to our community’s low-income children. School programs are great and we fully support them, but they are often not enough so we rely on non-primary school music schools to fill the gap.

PIES Fitness Yoga Studio
A holistic teaching yoga studio that trains yoga therapists and yoga teachers to create inclusive spaces where all beings impacted by psychological and biomedical conditions are welcomed, heard, valued, and seen while being empowered to achieve physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being. Additionally, we professionally apply the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalized assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management, and yoga practices for individuals and groups.
Wantok Language Initiative
Wantok Language Initiative provides Spanish classes, English classes, tutoring, and workshops for various ages. Our methodology is based on current linguistic research and teaching practices to craft practical lessons in which students will leave speaking the language. By multiplying the number of people in our community who speak other languages and understand other cultures, we will break down cultural stereotypes and barriers thereby creating a more unified and rich society.
