TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By registering for the Alexandria Turkey Trot, you agree to the Acknowledgement and Release and the Privacy Policy below.  If you register another person, you:

(a) certify that you have the other person's permission to do so, and the other
person agrees to the Acknowledgement and Release and the Privacy Policy below, and

(b) agree to indemnify and hold harmless all persons and entities listed in the Acknowledgement and Release below against any claim brought by
a person whom you register without such permission and agreement.

Each participant under the age of 18 on race day must have a written consent form signed by a parent or legal guardian, regardless whether such participant is registered online or in person. 

Acknowledgement and Release

I know that running is a strenuous and potentially hazardous activity.  I should not participate in this race unless I am physically fit and properly trained.  I assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including, but not limited to: falls; contact with other participants; the effects of weather, including cold, high heat, and humidity; the conditions of the road surface; vehicular traffic; and my own medical condition, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.  I agree to abide by the decision of race officials regarding my ability to safely complete the run.  In consideration of the acceptance of my registration, I hereby release the Road Runners Club of America, the D.C. Road Runners Club, the Del Ray Business Association, the City of Alexandria, Virginia, all event sponsors, and the officers, employees, agents, and successors of such entities from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, whether or not the result of negligence on the part of such persons.  This release shall bind my heirs, assigns, and successors.

Privacy Policy

We collect the following personal information when you register for the Alexandria Turkey Trot:

• Name
• Address
• Email
• Phone (optional)
• Date of Birth
• Sex

We use this information solely for purposes related to the Alexandria Turkey Trot.  This may include, for example, contacting you regarding a prize you may have won or reminding you of next year's race.  We will not give, trade, rent, or sell your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes.

We do not collect any financial information from you.  If you register online, your financial information, such as PayPal account information and credit/debit card number, is collected by PayPal and is subject to PayPal's privacy policy, for which we are not responsible.  If you register in person on race day and pay by check, we do not maintain a copy of your check or the information contained thereon, unless your check is returned to us unpaid by the bank. 

By participating in the race, you consent to publication of the race results.  We publish (or provide to others to publish) a list containing each runner's name, sex, age, city and state, and finishing time.  You may withold consent to publish your age by checking the appropriate block on the registration form.  We do not publish your date of birth.

By participating in the race, you also consent to the publication of photographs containing your image.
